Simple Things

He told me, "I love those simple things."
The things that touch the heart.
The feeling you get when you feel the
gentle wind on your face.
To see a carnation open day by day.

The way when you look up
and someone is there to give you a smile
when you have had a terrible day.

When a child comes to you and gives
you a dandelion flower as if
it was the most beautiful thing in the world.

He told me to give Him simple things.
A word of encouragement when one is down.
Just to sit together and not say a word
but the love is so profound.

To play a song on the piano with joy in your heart.
To look in each others eyes so deep it hurts.
Jesus says it is the simple things
that mean so much. They are peace, joy,
and love that does not make a sound.
But they touch right down into your Soul.

Don't make your world so complex.
where you need to scream because of the madness.
He told me it is the simple things that
He loves so much. Because it goes right
into your Spirit of where He resides.

He is always right there in your thoughts
and dreams. So close in love.
Reach to Him today.
